Costume Design for A Place to Fall Into
Walker Art Center, June 2018
Choreographed by Jordan Rosenow

I designed and sewed the costumes for A Place to Fall Into, a contemporary dance performance choreographed by Jordan Rosenow . The performance spanned three hours of dancers moving in a slow loop on the Walker Art Center Terrace during summer solstice. I made the jumpers to be breathable and allow for confident, comfortable movement. The result was a six panel, gender-neutral, linen-cotton jumpsuit. I fit the jumpers to each individual by adjusting the panels to their bodies. I have never formally learned how to sew or make patterns, but my architectural experience has helped me figure out (through considerable trial and error) how to connect pieces of fabric to cover a moving body.
